American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) - Established in 1972, this 25+ year old organization is the recognized specialty college responsible for establishing training requirements, evaluating and accrediting training programs, and examining and certifying veterinarians in the veterinary specialties of Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Neurology and Oncology.

American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialty of Oncology - "What is an veterinary oncologist? A veterinary oncologist has received board certification in the study of cancer in dogs, cats, ferrets, birds and other exotic and domestic animals. These veterinarians are specially trained to diagnose and treat animals with cancer." This page has a list of veterinary oncologists in the US, England (2), France (1), and Switzerland (1).

American College of Veterinary Surgeon (ACVS) - Founded in 1965, the American College of Veterinary Surgeons is the American Veterinary Medical Association specialty board which sets the standards for advanced professionalism in veterinary surgery. The ACVS defines the standards of surgical excellence for the profession, promotes advancements in veterinary surgery, and provides the latest in surgical educational programs.
